About the Conference

You are invited to support the major national conference on Environmental Management Systems for 2009. The conference is being held from 15-17 September at the Sanctuary Golf Resort, Bunbury in the magnificent south west of Western Australia.

This is the third conference held by the EMS Association and, for the first time, it is combined with the EMS in Agriculture Conference Series.

The theme of the conference is “International Management Systems for Better Environmental Outcomes”, reflecting the linkages between environmental management and positive business outcomes.

The conference is expected to attract between 150 and 200 delegates from a broad range of industry sectors.

Past events have drawn delegates from the agriculture, mining, manufacturing, consultancy, government, natural resource management, regulatory and research sectors. The potential pool of delegates is as wide as the application of an EMS to commercial and public endeavour.

Conference Aims

  • Highlight environmental and other outcomes achieved through use of EMS.
  • Recognise and reward individuals and businesses committed to EMS.
  • Discuss and debate EMS use in Australia and overseas.
  • Identify the research and extension needed for improved adoption of EMS.
  • Promote awareness of EMS.
