Genevieve Carruthers is the Principal EMS consultant for Ecosure, located at West Burleigh, Queensland. She has worked exclusively in the EMS field for the past 13 years on international, national and local scales for a broad range of industries. She has a wide range of skills in EMS application and auditing, including thorough knowledge of ISO 14001 EMS Standard and associated ISO 14000 series. Genevieve is the current president of the EMS Association of Australia, a foundation member of the United Nations Environmental Program Best Practice Network and the author of the National Introduction to EMS training package for Agriculture.

Mick is a passionate supporter of industry innovation and development within the construct of best environmental and social practice. Building a wide community of EMS knowledge and practice is Mick’s aim for EMSA! As is being a community voice to influence environmental policy development at all levels of government.
On a professional level, Mick has pursued an environmental management career after many years developing management and financial systems. Mick currently works for the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts. Prior to this Mick managed Medicare Australia's environmental management program, which won the 2008 Asia Pacific LearnX Green Training Awards – along with SAI Global and AMP. He has consulting experience in constructing and managing environmental impact statements accompanying local council development applications, and a background in broad acre wheat-sheep farming and associated land use practices. He holds post-graduate qualifications in environmental management, is a qualified accountant and is a certified environmental auditor.

Roger co-founded a non-profit company The Regional Institute Ltd after an early career in crop agronomy and farming. With strong technical, financial and analytical skills, Roger moved into business management and systems development in the 1990s. He started to use the Internet in 1993 and has developed a deep understanding of standards for information delivery, website usability and how people interact in an online environment.

Clive Smith is a wool producer in the Traprock region of south-east Queensland with his wife Margaret. Their 4,600 ha property runs 6,000 to 7,000 wether merinos producing wool in the 14.5 to 17.5 micron range. Clive is a member of Traprock Wool Association Inc., which has developed an umbrella EMS for its members and interested landholders in the area, currently about 50 participating properties. The Traprock groups initial focus was on wool production but it is rapidly diversifying into a range of enterprises including on-farm timber, horticulture, stone fruit, aquaculture and tourism. Clive has been as a participant in the development of the Traprock Integrated Management System, in particular, its requirement to sustain group activity in an umbrella approach. Traprock is developing a community database to provide trace back procedures for all enterprises and action plans as well as recording the biodiversity of the region.

Ambika is a a senior lecturer at Deakin University, Australia, Dr. Ambika Zutshi’s qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, a Masters’ degree in Environmental Management and PhD. Her current research is focused in the area of corporate social responsibility, role of stakeholders in the Environmental Management Systems (EMS), business ethics and supply chain management. She has articles accepted for publication in journals such as Business Process Management Journal, Managerial Auditing Journal, Management of Environmental Quality: An International Journal, Australian Accounting Review; Alternative Law Journal and the International Journal of Environmental and Sustainable Development.

ulia grew up on her family property “Telco”, at Bymount, north of Roma, in southwest Queensland. Her interest in NRM comes from being involved in things at a family business level, but also from travel she has done, and looking at how different groups address issues and deal with things in their communities. She is also interested in how people market products.
Julia has worked in various roles, for both government and non-government organisations as well as industry groups, and community groups. She worked for Queensland Murray Darling Committee as the Border Rivers Catchment Co-ordinator, as a Landcare Coordinator with Mitchell Landcare, for Queensland Fruit and Vegetable Growers (now Growcom) as the Northern Australia Vegetable Industry Development Officer (IDO) and for Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) in an administrative role.
Over the course of her career, Julia has worked with a range of stakeholders including local government, Indigenous groups, schools, landholders and local businesses. She has developed skills in facilitation and communication.

Chris Reid manages programs relating to business and environmental sustainability on private land. He successfully managed one of the Federally funded EMS pilots resulting in 41 landholder businesses completing an EMS based ISO 14001 in North East Victoria. Of those 41 businesses, 30 decided to remain with EMS and Chris is in the process of auditing them to the ALMS Eucalypt standard.

Shona Cameron is an environmental management consultant at Environment Essentials, which specialises in summarising and publishing OH&S and environmental legal duties in plain English. She is currently an author of the Envirolaw and LawGuides legal obligations directories. Shona has provided environmental solutions for businesses in Australia and abroad. She is particularly interested in the scientific and political aspects of greenhouse gas reporting, waste management and biotechnology.

Mick is a 5th generation farmer/ owner/manager of Yowangup Pty Ltd. He is secretary/rreasurer of Blackwood River Foundation and a committee and executive member of Blackwood Basin Group. Mick serves on the St Patricks School Board, the Katanning Land Conservation District Committee, Southwest Catchment Council (CMA) and the Wagin / Woodanilling Catchment zone.
